Pete Sekhawat, founder and director of the Glenmoore-based Sekhawat Agency, is releasing information on a charity drive to help provide trained service dogs to individuals in need of assistance with daily tasks. Donations gathered will be provided to Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit group that trains service canines to perform many tasks that help provide disabled individuals with independence.
“We always knew dogs were a man’s best friend, but it is truly amazing to see what these animals are able to do. They provide hope and freedom for many individuals and we are inspired by their dedication,” said Sekhawat.
To engage residents in the area, the Sekhawat team will be basing donations on the number of referrals sent into the firm over the next six months. For each person sent into the firm to enjoy a no obligation insurance appraisal, the firm will make a $10 donation to Canine Companions. No purchases will be required.
